GKN Weekly Update 4/26/10

And hello to you on this rainy morning!

This past week has involved a lot of "homework", so to speak. I did a ton of home recordings for a series of animated science tutorials as well as a sci-fi audio book. Dems had lots o' big words! Notable terms included Noosphere, denitrifying, and abiotic. As I write this, I'm noticing that they all have that red squiggly line under each of them signifying, that even the spellchecker doesn't recognize them. It was a pleasurable challenge to define and pronounce all of them correctly!

TIP OF THE WEEK: Like most industries, the keys to success in the voiceover industry include being punctual, professional, and personable. Let's add "sound like you know what the hell you're talking about" to the list! I'm sure we've all tap danced our way through a meeting/presentation in our time, but when you're voicing a script you really need to understand the copy so your cadence and stresses are correct. It's very obvious when you don't understand what you're reading! Don't be afraid to ask questions and do some research on your end.

QUOTE OF THE WEEK: Respect dress codes. You’ll have more liberty to be funny. Walker Lamond

STUFF: So, who out there can define Noosphere, denitrifying, and abiotic WITHOUT looking them up?

Have a great week!
